In 1998, I arrived in Santa Barbara, CA, on a tourist visa, with a dream of completing my college education in the U.S. Shortly after, I transitioned to an F1 visa and enrolled at Santa Barbara City College, where I earned an Associate’s Degree in Business. I continued my academic journey at California State University, Northridge, graduating in 2003.
My experience in the pre-9/11 era was quite different from today’s world. I was able to focus entirely on my studies while interning at National Visa Service (NVS), a prestigious immigration law firm. The diverse, global clientele and the intricate processes of immigration captivated me, and I soon found my passion for guiding others through their American Dream.
Within a year, I advanced from an intern to the Operations Manager and immigration paralegal at NVS. My role there, coupled with my H1B visa status, allowed me to gain invaluable experience and contribute significantly to the firm’s mission. After a decade at NVS, I embarked on a new chapter—marrying and starting a family.
Now a U.S. citizen, I’ve dedicated my career to helping immigrants achieve their goals, both through my work at NVS and independently. My journey has equipped me with profound insights and a deep commitment to supporting others in their pursuit of the American Dream.
